The Revolutionary

I died on the guillotine
during the French revolution.
Lacroix and Fabre were with me
witnessing my execution.

I was a revolutionary,
a victim of my own creation.
My attempt to end the bloodshed
ended with my elimination.

My head fell into the basket
this was my one way ticket that
brought me to the heavenly gate
what a pathetic fate.

How sweet the angels sing!
Pleasure, delight they bring!
How sweet the angels sing!
Pleasure, delight they bring!

After I had earned my wings
I joined the critics of the boss.
We started up a war up there
demanding an inverted cross.
A haircut for the son of god
and six towers on every dome.
Real wine instead of grape juice
and fewer employees in Rome.

War in Heaven...
War in Heaven...
War in Heaven....

Our demands were deemed unjust
by the great creator of all.
He threatened us with purgatory
and said we all were doomed to fall.
For many years we bravely fought
sometimes quite close to victory
but then God ordered men from Satan:
Killers fighting mercilessly!

Eventually they won the war
and I was sent back down to earth,
although God said that I deserved hell
not a pardon or rebirth.

But he knew this planet needs
nothing more than men like me.
So followed by the winds of change
I have come back for mutiny!
