Unternehemen Dreizack is the industrial/metal side project of Josef K. and Raymond P. The project was created in the late 1990ies, possibly in response to the numerous other industrial/EBM/power noise groups such as Feindflug, Polarlicht 4.1, and Panzer Division that were coming into vogue at the time. The music of Unternehemen Dreizack is characterized very similar to these bands: repeated loopings of guitars/beats/harsh electronics with samples in lieu of vocals.
The first Unternehemen Dreizack release was the maxi single Lüge wird Wahrheit, Frieden ist Krieg on the controversial VAWS label. Unternehemen Dreizack also graced the Wellenreiter In Schwarz vol. 3 compilation in 1999 with the unreleased track “Gedankenpolizei”.
The first, and to date only, album released by Unternehemen Dreizack was 1948 released in 2001 also on VAWS. The album, an obvious anagram of 1984, was released as a double CD with the Lüge wird Wahrheit, Frieden ist Krieg single. As the title implies, the album is an analysis of today’s society through the dystopian imagery brought into currency by Aldous Huxley and George Orwell. Conspiracy theory topics such as the new world order, big brother, and the horrors of globalization are realized with harsh guitar driven electronics with samples lifted from commercials, movies, and speeches.
The last activity of Unternehemen Dreizack was being used as a moniker for a remix of Von Thronstahl’s song “Wider Die Masse” for the online Neo Form sampler in 2005. Due to Josef’s dislike of noise music and both musicians being heavily involved in other projects, future output of Unternehemen Dreizack will most certainly be few and far between.
